The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said “Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah will receive a hasanah(good deed) from it, and the hasanah is multiplied by ten. I do not say that Alif-Laam-Meem is a letter , rather Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter.”

There is no excuse for a faithful Muslim to ignore the Quran.
The time the prophet (PBUH) got the revelations of certain parts of the Quran and he was able to review and learn it, and then share it with all the other Muslims about the Quran. They also tried to remember important Surahs and other sections from the Quran and write down the information they could, even the fact that there was no writing material available at the time.

How do learn the surahs of Quran?
The first step is to note down the Ayah (verse) you’d like to keep in your notebook. Also, write down the translation for the ayah. Second, repeat the ayah six times while gazing towards the Quran. Thirdly, repeat the ayah five times from memory. Fourthly, proceed onto the following ayah, and do the same as described previously.
Unless you are memorising full time, don’t push yourself too hard. You have other things in your life such as a job, a family, a need to sleep, and a need to rest. I have found that (considering my age of course) I can memorise a sura as long as Surat Al Mulk or Surat Al Qalam in one week while dedicating not more than one hour a day. If this is what you need, then you will be able to finish an entire juz’ in less than 3 months, and the whole Quran in 6 years. Don’t think that this is not great. It is because consistency is better than speed. It’s better to give your brain the chance to engrave it in your head by going slow than rushing into memorising then forgetting as quickly as you memorised.
I usually memorize Quran by reading a particular verse repeatedly until I become familiar with the words. And then I try to recite it by heart. I repeat this a few times until I make sure I have memorized it. To ensure that you remember it your lifetime, recite them in your prayers often.
